About Our Organization

The Tribal Youth Development Foundation (TYDF) is a non-governmental organization registered under the India Trust Act of 1882, with a registered office in New Delhi. TYDF has its main branch office in Ukhrul District Headquarters, Manipur. Ukhrul branch office is the first branch of TYDF and plans to reach out its activities in various parts of the tribal areas in the country.

It is a matter of fact that the tribal communities in India are one of the most marginalized social groups; whether be it in the area of education or health or wealth. It is also true that various successive governments have taken up various progressive steps to bring the tribal communities at par with other communities in India however we are still far from reaching the desirable outcome.

Under the given circumstances and situation of the tribal communities in India, the TYDF believes that youth empowerment through education and skill training will bring transformational change in various developmental landscape. To start with TYDF has chosen the remotest North Eastern Region international border Ukhrul District, Manipur with more than 90 percent tribal population as our first destination to initiate our activities.

What We Do

Since 2014, TYDF works with many stakeholders across the country to bring developmental change and growth to the tribal communities in the country. Some of our core activities are: creating awareness programmes on various socio economic issues in our country in context to the tribal youth in the country, developing and promoting livelihood, skill training, research and education, career guidance, advocacy works on connectivity and infrastructure development.

Our vision is to create holistic development of the Tribal Youths in India by empowering and facilitating them with a right platform and support in order for them to realize their full potential.

Mission

To promote quality education, skill training, awareness programs, advocacy works, trainings and research, seminars and entrepreneurship to the tribal youth in India.
